Ce philosophe et théoricien de la littérature évoque la valeur d'une oeuvre lorsqu'elle elle est enracinée dans l'un des quatre éléments, sincèrement, spontanément. De part la spontanéité et donc sa dimension psychanalytique, ce dessin aux éléments aquatiques m'a rappelé l'analyse de Bachelard en ce sens que la complexité de ce "décor" ne peut être que celui d'un cerveau dans son parcours mnésique - voire amniotique ! Tereza De Almeida De Giorgi, known under the pseudonym Kaomento, was born in 1955 and currently lives in France, where she practices her art with passion. Using ink on paper as her primary medium, she draws inspiration from masters such as Matisse, Klimt and Kandinsky.

Her atypical career path has taken her from arts and crafts to drawing, including teaching, university research and even singing. Tereza also sings in public with her Duo “You&I”, interpreting the music of the hippie movement of the 60s/70s, a period which deeply marked and inspired her, notably by creators like Roger Dean.

Drawing arrived late in Tereza's life, but established itself as a necessity for expression. She created the concept of KaoMento (mental chaos), spontaneous drawings made with pigmented Indian ink with “artist pens”. This tool allows him to produce works of extreme detail and finesse, resembling lace or filigree. Each drawing is the fruit of many hours of work, a veritable labyrinth in which she gets lost with delight.

Without a preliminary sketch or preconceived idea, Tereza gives free rein to her imagination. His pens automatically reproduce the complexity of his inner state, giving rise to works where vivid emotions explode in colors and shapes. His creations are characterized by interlacing, convolutions and superpositions of lines, spirals and trapezoids. From this visual magma emerge imaginary animals evolving in their natural elements: air, water, earth.

This fantastic and psychedelic bestiary reflects the joyful aesthetic of the 60s/70s, while carrying deep reminiscences of the ocean bordering Portugal from his childhood. Tereza's works also transport the collective memory of an ancestral and founding time, bringing to the surface the abyssal depths of a lost but still present world in her art.
