Par cette sculpture j'exprime le contraste entre la jeunesse et la vieillesse, ma compassion au désir de vivre malgré l'age, incompréhension par la jeunesse de vrais motives de ceux qui ne veulent pas partir.
Depuis plusieurs années je m’exprime à travers la sculpture, la forme d’expression la plus proche de moi parmi toutes les formes d’art. Tout d’abord la sculpture virtuelle m’a révélé cette puissance d’expression dans l’espace, ensuite j’ai cherché à apprendre les techniques artisanales pour m’exprimer sur la matière réelle. Plusieurs sujets m’intéressent : notre avenir, nos relations avec la nature, notre place dans la société. Mais, à part la conception, le travail de l’artisan, maitrise de la matière, contraintes techniques, recherche de solutions, est un dialogue avec la matière qui me passionne énormément.
La céramique et le bois sont mes matières préférées. Quand je travaille le bois j’ai l’impression qu’il participe, par sa texture et par les caprices de ses fibres, à l’élaboration de mon œuvre.La céramique est plus souple et plus obéissante, mais elle sait aussi créer des surprises. La combinaison de ces matières chaudes et vivantes m’inspire.
