'Spring Loaded’ is constituted of gray blue hues, white and black shapes and orange accents, composed in acrylic paint. This technique takes from abstract expressionism. Throughout his painting Stephen uses the colors of his imagination and the guidance of his true self.
This image is composed on stretched canvas fashioned with a thin wood frame, ready to hang. From his mind we see figures or shapes not uncommon in nature.
With infinite possibilities we find him moving beyond the feeling of paint and material and we see the artists challenge for what a painting can be. 'Spring Loaded’ was featured in the KSA Spring Show 2019 (an annual Kauai Society of Artists art event)
