Métamorphose (2020) Sculpture by Sophie Laurent Lazinier

As a child, Sophie Laurent Lazinier discovered pottery and began modeling as an autodidact. As an adult, she first joined Istvan Kilar's workshop where she learned to work plaster and wood, then that of Pierre Mouchet where she refined her study of the human body.
If for the artist "sculpture abolishes time”, it also sharpens the eye by allowing, through the work of the material, to freeze the fullness of the moment and its beauty. This beauty that she tracks down in a line, a curve, an attitude, she flushes it out, teeming with ideas, making sketches, taking notes or photos that will one day perhaps allow her to tear away the moment to his fleetingness to create a lasting work which will reflect the quality of his outlook and a joy of living which seems to guide his approach.
