I was born in Rajasthan, the most colourful state in India. Growing up in such an environment had a significant impact on me and this has continued to reflect in my work. I studied painting and applied arts at one of the most prestigious art institutions in India. Thereafter, I went to the UK to specialise in visual communication at the London College of Graphic Art where I also studied advanced photography.

On returning back to Mumbai, India, where I currently reside, I worked in many different disciplines in the field of advertising and visual art. Prestigious photography assignments enabled me to travel extensively across the globe and on these various trips, where I got the opportunity to visit some of the most famous museums in the world. Here I could closely observe the different schools of painting with their diverse styles. I was deeply influenced by some of the masters of the modern and contemporary art movements.

The last few years, I have been extensively exploring digital technology. This has resulted in my working on a series of digital paintings. I often integrate multiple images to create a tech-forward composition that tells a story. I believe a painting is not only a painter’s name, signature or typical style; it is the creation of his observation, vision and skill. Also, it is not just a passive piece of decoration but like music and poetry, it should evoke emotions and invite the onlooker to sometimes participate in the process of decoding the painting. In the future, I plan to add dimensions like motion and sound to some of my paintings to make them more interactive.
