An old custom has been revived in Georgia, when chichilaki is placed in houses for the New Year and Christmas. They are made from a straight branch of a walnut tree: thin strips of wood are removed in layers from the bottom up, leaving them to stick at the upper end.

The result is a curly planed "herringbone", which is otherwise called "basila" - that is, the beard of St. Basil. After all, the church memory of Basili Didi - Saint Basil the Great falls on January 1 (only according to the old style, that is, on the so-called "Old New Year"), but in Georgia he is very much revered.

This painting is a participant of the international exhibition "The Christmas Miracle" in Hungary (Budapest) in December 2022.

ATTENTION! I print museum-quality prints using the giclee technique, which allows me to reproduce the color palette of the original with great accuracy and retain the effect of a watercolor painting. The paper consists of 100% cotton and is acid-free, making the image last 100-200 years.

"First the notes, then the letters, now the paints". With this aphorism, a friend of mine marked my creative biography. Well, the aphorism is correct: first I received my education as a musicologist, then as an art journalist... But "the paints" in this sequence had to be put forward. After all, as a child, I graduated from art school.

True, for over 20 years I have been hiding this fact… Fortunately, in 2018 I was able to return to painting. Masterclasses, thematic courses, workshops, and intensives with wonderful teachers helped to hone forgotten skills and find their own "voice”.

With this "voice" – as well as the voice of a musicologist and a journalist – I like to confess my love for this world and for its Creator. I am convinced that any person, wherever he lives, can be happy if he fills himself with gratitude for what he has and around him. And my message as an artist is this: there is a lot of things in our life that can bring joy, inspire and delight. And all this is very close, the main thing is to learn to notice.

The favorite subjects of my paintings are landscapes, still lifes, lyrical and funny scenes.

My special passion is Georgia. The culture of this country, before which I sincerely adore, maintains the fire of creativity in me and encourages me to do more and more work. I hope that through them I can infect my viewers with my feelings.

Now my works are kept in private collections in Russia, Australia, Georgia, Armenia. I work as an illustrator for a children's magazine and participate as an artist in various projects and exhibitions.

Since 2022, I have been a member of the international association of artists ASM-club and the Union of Russian Watercolorists.
