This was one of the first drawings that I did of Matunuck.
I've always been a sucker for haphazardly stacked piles of thrash. That's how I would describe the shacks there. Many of the shanties started as just one-room shacks. As time moved on, another room was added, then appliances, old carpet, and anything that still had some life left to it got hauled down there.
One either feels a kinship to the run-down shanties, or they don't, I did.
