These works are typical of the pieces I was producing between 2004-2015.
To begin, the blank linen surface is folded into a succession of fixed undulations before oil paint was poured onto it. Allowing gravity to pull paint from the peaks to the troughs. Once dried the process is repeated in another directions. Creating marks that are unique to the curved surface.
Finally the canvas is flattened and mounted to a frame. Further painting may also be applied - layering and consuming the natural structures (texture).
