Kerry Gerdes is a women photographer who specializes in fine art. Born and raised in Plymouth, Devon (United Kingdom). She is surrounded by the rugged moors of Dartmoor National Park on one side and lush coastline on the other. She has the best of both worlds, and her work is clearly influenced by nature and the world around her. Kerry's work is frequently abstract; however, she frequently uses the landscape in which she grew up as a starting point for her photographs. She is inspired by the landscape, the desire to create and produce more work, as well as previous photographers. She first saw Saul Leiter's work about ten years ago and was immediately inspired and in awe of what you can create with color film and photography. Kerry has developed her own style, focusing primarily on color in her work.
She was chosen as one of "100 artists to watch" in 2014 when her work was featured in a London group exhibition at the Schwartz gallery. She has also shown her work in New York and in Devon, her home county.
