1/90000 of the original image, and, to me at least, is representative of the pattern of the electrical discharge from an electric arc lamp as it is lit, before it becomes so bright as to overwhelm your vision completely with its brightness. Or how a bunch of neurons in your brain might look when totally stimulated with activity. There are several versions of the main image (Don't Let Your Imagination Spook You 1), limited to 3 prints for each version. In this version, 1b4, I have rendered the electricity in black with bright white edges, while the background has been rendered in deep cobalt blue.

Ken Lerner is a passionate photographic artist, born into a family of renowned photographers in 1947. He began taking photos at the age of 6, using a camera given to him by his father. But he was not interested in simply reproducing real life moments. His vision was more subjective and he sought to project an internal reality of that moment.
At the beginning of his career, he almost exclusively created images with multiple exposures. This gave a complex structure to the images and represented a subjective view of the world. In the 2010s, after working in financial product sales, he returned to photography producing only single exposure images. Even though they were less structurally complex, they still represented a subjective view of the world, being almost totally abstract. Ken works extensively with reflective surfaces such as water, glass and metal.
A lover of the beauty of nature, Ken Lerner paints and photographs a lot of landscapes and seascapes. He is interested in presenting different possibilities of representing "nature" and often produces many variations of an image with different colors, shades, contrasts and saturations.
