Circe is a work resulting from a great day of inspiration, or rather night, when I produced it. Its inspiration goes back to the tales of Greek mythology and the myth of William Blacke. A beautiful lady emerges from a completely somber background, and her black hair is confused with these very shadows, the transparencies of watercolor - the medium used in the work - help to promote the subtleties of a kind of staining on her dress and even on her face. . The tones tend towards a monochrome, but are broken at times by a timid reddening of her face, at times by the ocher of the chalice she holds, at others by the celestial blue of her eyes, which, incidentally, gaze at the viewer as if fatally arresting him in the offer of his Cup.

Jorge Paulo Quiros born on 23.01.1989, Brazilian, visual artist, art teacher, from a young age his identification with the arts was already clear.

Author of several works, with influences from romanticism , symbolism and expressionism, his paintings stand out for their bright, striking colors and strong brushstrokes throughout the work, and in addition to an approximation of imagery symbols with naturalistic images, aligning the timelessness of beauty with the fleetingness of his style. A deep connoisseur of art, the author shows in his work the inspiration that comes from within himself and through the canvas, paints and brushes he brings his creation to life.

The creative process of his work takes place in this confrontation between the observer and the object of contemplation, whether internal or external contemplation, in which the object speaks to the observer; what the image communicates to the eye and what the heart expresses on the support; composing through this relationship the process whose result is the plastic work, which is the transubstantiation of the perceived reality into the demonstrated reality, or rather, revealed. The image, being in the artist's language, a receptacle of a series of ideals and formal elements, is printed on canvas or paper, revealing all the impressions contained in the image through the plastic work, with the work being the new receptacle of the ideal and elements of the they are portrayed and poeticized by the artist's language expressed in the work.

This confrontation takes place through an idea, which once emerged in consciousness, impels me to produce it and express it in the best possible way; I see my process in this emergence of the search for the expression of the idea that is achieved through a constant and progressive sketching of the form. With this, I consolidate imagery in naturalism through the different elements of expression of the image, which are symbolism, the subconscious, assimilated to the different aspects of the perception of external forms.

Images lie in nature and in memory, memory being the timelessness of temporal nature, the impressions of the images I produce come from both sources, composing a metaphysics of the image, which expresses in the work the elements of natural form as well as elements of the inner image that the artist evokes from his imagination and from the veiled face of nature noted and revealed by the artistic process.
