Armenia, a land of rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes, is known for its vibrant colors and character. This painting captures the essence of Armenia during autumn, where the Cathedral of Gregory the Illuminator stands tall. The inspiration for this work comes from the vivid hues and the distinct character of Armenia.
The artwork is an exploration of textures and various forms, a part of my collage technique series, aiming to convey the unique character of this place. It expresses my deep feelings of admiration for the colors and light of Armenia.
The materials used in this piece play a crucial role in capturing the essence of Armenia. It incorporates pages from Armenian books and various pre-prepared colorful pages, creating a textured and visually captivating surface. The colors in this work are bold and vibrant, mirroring the vividness of Armenia's autumn.
The painting is meticulously crafted on high-quality 100% cotton watercolor paper, using artist-grade watercolors, wax pastels, and book pages. Daria Kamyshanova was born in Moscow in 1990. Classes in drawing and various applied arts were a favorite pastime from an early age.
The artist did not have a classical academic education. But in adulthood, she began to actively study the theory of drawing and painting, attend evening painting schools, full-time and online workshops of famous artists from Russia and other countries.
In May 2022, the artist left Russia for Armenia, where she continues to live and work.
As in childhood, she is inspired by the beauty and power of nature. Variety of colors and textures in the landscape.
Another favorite theme of the artist is people in the moment of life. Whether it's a couple in a cafe, a merchant in a shop, tourists on a halt or street musicians.
In her work, Daria uses the Alya-prima watercolor technique, without trying to achieve photographic similarity, giving the material the opportunity to show its unique character.
In her watercolors, she strives to convey an extraordinary sense of space and life scenes that can go unnoticed in the daily routine. Her work is inspired by the play of light, contrasts of textures, colors, shadows or something that depicts peace, love, peace, tranquility, silence that touches the heart of any person from any area of life.
