Le dessin fait partie d'une série intitulée ''Cairns''. Je marche depuis toujours sur des sentiers en montagne, dans les Appalaches au New Hampshire et dans d'autres états. Je rencontre ces piles de roches qui nous indiquent le chemin à suivre. À un certain point dans mes explorations en art, j'ai fait le rapprochement entre tous ces cairns et toutes les personnes que nous rencontrons, tous ces événements que nous vivons, les obstacles, la famille qui détermine qui nous sommes et les sentiers personnels que nous empruntons dans nos vies. Ce dessin en particulier parle de vouloir retourner à la maison après la tempête ou perdu par les événements qui défient notre capacité à être en paix et calmes. Les mines représentent les obstacles que nous rencontrons quelquefois sur le chemin du retour.

Christian Parent lives and works in Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec. He has also taught visual art at the Cégep de St-Hyacinthe since 2001. The artist exhibits solo through several artist centers, Galerie POPOP in collaboration with Circa art contemporain in Montreal. He also exhibits collectively in other centers in Quebec. In 2017 and 2021 he participates in the Drawing Biennale at the Mont St-Hilaire Museum of Fine Arts among others.
