Céline Martinant is a contemporary French artist. Martinant examines the volcanic material that captivates her interest and desire. She investigates fusion while paying attention to color, texture, and the lava's alterations at extremely high temperatures. With the goal of returning lava to its natural source - the earth's crust - she has reinvented enameling and ceramic methods with patience, focus, and caution. In order to unleash her creative spirit and explore every aspect of her art, she exceeds this subject matter.
Martinant has been working on discovering her volcanic identity and her magmatic memory for the past 8 years. She pushes the conventional technical limitations of stone machining and cutting within andésite while learning from Jean Sembel, and she surpasses the states of matter to produce outstanding and unique pieces in lava. In June 2022, she displayed her innovative artistic and technical work at the Révélations fair, the international biennial of artistic professions in Paris.
Céline Martinant was born in 1993, in France, where she graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Métiers d'Art in Yzeure.
