My painting, titled “Seasons of the Soul”, is a reflection of the different stages and emotions that women go through in their lives. It depicts a woman who emerges from the landscape of orange groves, fresh tiled field, and four tiny white houses, symbolizing her growth, transformation, and belonging. She has a care-free expression on her face, as if she is accepting and embracing herself. Her hair is adorned with roses, evergreen leaves, autumn leaves, sunflower, and cranberries, representing the seasons of spring, summer, autumn, winter, and harvest. The starry sky behind her suggests a sense of mystery and spirituality.
I used oil on a 9 by 12 inch wooden panel to create this painting, as I wanted to capture the texture and depth of the scene. I chose a warm and vibrant color palette to convey a feeling of joy and optimism. I also used contrast and perspective to draw attention to the woman and her surroundings.
My painting is inspired by my own personal journey as a woman and an artist. I wanted to express my gratitude for the people and places that have nurtured me, and my curiosity for the unknown. I hope that my painting can inspire other women to find their own rhythm and harmony, and to celebrate their seasons of the soul.
I created this painting over six weeks in 2024, as part of my exploration of the theme of seasons. I experimented with different techniques and materials to express my vision and feelings. I enjoyed the process of creating this painting, and I hope you enjoy viewing it.
