Caroline Vis is a contemporary abstract expressionism painter born in 1965 in the Netherlands and currently residing in France. Her large-format paintings serve as visual manifestations of her profound emotional responses to various stimuli, particularly gleaned from interviews, lectures, documentaries, and global events that spotlight injustice and unfairness. In her own words, she describes her creative process as a transformative journey, stating, "I painted my way from sorrow to total happiness."
For many years, Caroline maintained a dual professional life, dedicating her nights to the pursuit of her artistic expression. It wasn't until 2013/14 that she unveiled her paintings to the public for the first time, signaling a pivotal moment in her artistic career. Despite being self-taught in painting, her extensive travels and participation in study trips around the world, including Venice, enriched her artistic perspective.
Later in life, Caroline decided to further refine her skills and enhance her artistic sensibilities by enrolling at the AKI ArtEZ University of the Arts. A pivotal piece of advice from one of her professors guided her towards a more introspective path, encouraging her to prioritize personal development over conventional painting techniques and art history. Fueled by this counsel, Caroline Vis forged her distinctive artistic identity, firmly asserting, "That's how I'm going to keep doing it."
Today, Caroline's artistic footprint extends across numerous international virtual galleries and renowned auctions in both Europe and the United States. In 2022, she marked another milestone by inaugurating the Contemporary Art Gallery in Ploubazlanec, France.
