Carmen Lazarescu was born in 1960 in Romania. She undertook architectural studies and graduated from the "Ion Mincu" Institute of Architecture in 1987. In 1990, she made the decision to settle in Paris, where she lived and worked as a as an architect.
His training in architecture gave him an attentive eye for details and graphics, as well as a marked artistic sensitivity for chromatic harmonies and plastic arts. For Carmen, photography is not just a hobby, it is a unique way of perceiving the world, highlighting its most intimate details. It’s also a way to keep track of what she’s seen and loved throughout her travels and experiences.
Carmen Lazarescu feels a particular fascination for what she describes as "patina": the old walls marked by time and history, the rusty tin cans, the fragments of old boats, the abandoned places which are full of the ghosts of past, old toys and wilted flowers. She captures these elements with her camera, revealing their hidden beauty.
The need to share her artistic vision of photography imposed itself on Carmen, and since 1999, she has regularly exhibited her work, whether solo or in groups, in exhibitions around the world, notably in Paris, Bucharest , Luxembourg, Tokyo and Lisbon. His photographs are now present in private collections in France, Romania, Japan, the United States, South Africa and Greece, testifying to the universal appeal of his art.
