Diese Serie entstand aus dem Wunsch heraus, Orte mit einer ganz eigenen Stimmung zu erschaffen, wie man sie im Traum, der Fantasie oder in Filmkulissen antreffen mag. Es sind archaisch - zeitlose Landschaften, die sich zwischen dem Weltlichen und Außerirdischen einreihen. Charakterisiert durch immer wieder antreffende Felsformationen und einer gemalten unwirklichen Beleuchtung, ähneln die Kulissen einem Besuch auf einem fremden Planeten.
Die Serie löst vielschichtige Gefühle und Betrachtungsweisen aus. Einerseits wirken die Bilder spannend und für einige Betrachter teils bedrohlich...gleichzeitig strahlen sie eine meditative Ruhe aus, worin andere für sich einen Ort des Friedens entdecken.
Steine und Felsen haben für Evers eine besondere Bedeutung und sind in dieser Serie immer wieder anzutreffen. Von ihrer kräftigen, robusten und zeitlosen Präsenz geht eine stille Kraft aus, die sich auf den Menschen überträgt. Evers betrachtet Felsen wie Figuren mit einer eigenen Charakteristik und Lebendigkeit und versucht malerisch ihre Wesenheit zu erfassen. Mit kontrastreichem Spiel von Licht und Schatten und dem Hilfsmittel der Perspektive hebt er ihre Präsenz auf dem Malgrund hervor.
