Brigitte Tarrats, adopted from Bordeaux, was born in Algiers at the confluence of Mediterranean cultures.
Her studies in visual arts laid the foundations for 'an open style, which evolves over time.
Energy, light, ephemeral trace of visual impressions, static or moving force constitute the framework of his pictorial approach.
On a textured background of materials, potential of prior energy which imposes its ruptures and its reliefs, she plays with colors and lines to translate the power of beings and elements...Each new canvas is an experience which favors the part of the unknown necessary for her to the act of painting; then comes the moment to “channel the energy and know how to suspend the gesture in its momentum, precisely…just before going too far…”

This is how from the mist-clarity or the shadow-depth emerges a line, a stain, an asperity...So, from the formless the form is born, a moment, or imposes itself on the view, at the right distance, that of the gaze which focuses...Still evident a moment ago, it suddenly fades, slips away before disappearing, drowned in color, caught up in the void , frozen in matter, fleeting, evanescent at the very second when attention becomes blurred….A blink of an eyelid and a new story begins...
