Annemarieke van Peppen, born in Rotterdam in 1971, is a versatile artist who started her artistic development at the Academy for Art and Industry (AKI) in Enschede, where she studied fashion. After her time at the AKI, she traveled through Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia, where she gained inspiration for her work and began to develop her own artistic style.

Van Peppen's artistic practice encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including collages, installations, impact art projects, photography, sculptures and even clothing. Her works are imbued with a profound introspection and a ceaseless search for the beauty of the human experience, even in its ugliness.

With a unique combination of materials, such as symbolic Japanese paper, unbleached cotton and various other media, she creates works that are both challenging and poetic. Her series "Adventures of a Fluctuous Woman" forms a central theme in her oeuvre, in which she explores her own personal journey of self-discovery and fluctuation and invites the viewer to introspection.

Since she rented a new studio in 2014, her work has flourished, resulting in exhibitions both at home and abroad. Van Peppen's impact art projects are striking because of their critical approach and research into current social developments, especially under the influence of social media. With her daring experiments and multidisciplinary approach, Annemarieke van Peppen remains an intriguing and inspiring figure in the contemporary art world.
