Tisiphone (altgriechisch Τισιφόνη Tisiphónē) oder Teisiphone (Τεισιφόνη Teisiphónē) ist in der griechischen Mythologie die Tochter des Alkmaion und der Manto.
Als Manto zum Orakel von Delphi geschickt wird, vertraut Alkmaion seine Kinder dem korinthischen König Kreon an. Eifersüchtig auf die Schönheit Tisiphones, verkauft Kreons Gattin Merope sie als Sklavin. Alkmaion kauft sie, nicht ahnend, dass es sich um seine Tochter handelt. Erst als er nach Korinth zurückkommt, um seine Kinder zurückzuholen, erkennt er sie wieder.

Tisiphone (Ancient Greek Τισιφόνη Tisiphónē) or Teisiphone (Τεισιφόνη Teisiphónē) is the daughter of Alkmaion and Manto in Greek mythology.
When Manto is sent to the oracle at Delphi, Alcmaion entrusts his children to the Corinthian king Creon. Jealous of Tisiphone's beauty, Creon's wife Merope sells her as a slave. Alcmaion buys her, not knowing that she is his daughter. Only when he returns to Corinth to take his children back does he recognize them.

Stone

Sculpture technique using a solid mineral substance.

Enamel

Paint made with molten glass powder and oxide. The enamels are then applied by mixing them with distilled water. There is a form of vitrifiable enamel which consist of mixing the oxides with very little glass and oil until a paste is obtained. They are then applied as a painting.

Ceramics

Sculpture technique using as raw material a malleable Earth which can have different color then cooked to increase its solidity.

Clay

Sculpture technique using as a raw material a malleable soil that can have different colors.

Surrealism

Founded in 1923 by the writer André Breton, it will unite many artists like Salvador Dali (1904-1989), Max Ernst, René Magritte (1898-1967), Victor Brauner (1903-1966). Influenced by psychoanalysis, they see psychic life as a new field for renewing the arts. They will develop new ways to create and use new materials.
