A young student of the painter Fernandez Diaz, Alain Barat began his activity as a cartoonist and illustrator in the press at the age of 18.
After studying applied arts in Bordeaux, he attended the Atelier Lafaye then the Atelier Pluriel in Bordeaux where he worked on anatomy with models (portrait and academic nudes).
Then came orders for the theater (creation of sets), #039;publishing (novel covers) and communication (agencies, illustrations for conferences, etc.).
Press cartoons and caricatures will also take their place in his creations. He sometimes sketches, on the spot, the faces of passers-by acting in poses.
His refined lines are stylized in the manner of comic book artists. His taste for portraiture asserts itself, just as his models become more feminine.
Guided by aesthetic research, he paints the feelings and universal humanity of his models.
