Biography
Seungwoo Kim is a contemporary Korean sculptor. Seungwoo Kim is known for his coin sculptures. The artist considers coins as a material rather than a value, reflecting on the advantages and disadvantages of money and attempting to express social and cultural values in his work. Placing the coins, one by one, hundreds of thousands of coins, artist is creating complex, surprisingly detailed three-dimensional sculptures.
Seungwoo Kim was born in 1978, in South Korea, where he graduated from the Department of Sculpture in Chungnam National University and Arts Graduate School in Hongik University.
