Stéphanie Jouffret crée des tableaux en collages de papiers froissés. Après un parcours professionnel riche en enseignement et rencontre, elle assiste Anne Cartier-Bresson, restauratrice de photographie, à l’Atelier de Restauration et de Conservation des Photographies de la Ville de Paris, ou elle s’occupe de l’exposition itinérante «Paris sous l’objectif», puis rentre au musée Galliera, musée de la mode et du costume de la Ville de Paris ou elle développe des activités artistiques pour enfants dans les expositions du musée.
Stéphanie jouffret laisse parler les p’tit papiers, qui à l’instar de serge Gainsbourg, révèlent toute leur poésie. L’artiste regarde, touche, découpe, déchire et colle souvent par couches pour créer un univers qui n’appartient qu’à elle. Stéphanie ne s’embarrasse pas de grands discours et ne cherche surtout pas à paraître dans une époque où l’art est caroline souvent le jeu du miroir de l’égo. Elle agit plus qu’elle ne parle, elle construit plus qu’elle ne conceptualise. C’est une instinctive qui cherche et qui trouve en collant des petits bouts de papiers les uns avec les autres et sublime une technique devenue une « petite Cosette » des galeries, pour en faire de véritables œuvres.
