Dans mes œuvres, j’ai abordé au fil du temps différentes techniques, principalement la tapisserie de haute lice et le collage.
Pour moi, la tapisserie répond, sans doute, à deux besoins latentes, celui du mur et celui de la matière, puis leur accord de l’un pour l’autre.
Dans mes projets, j’essaie d’opérer une synthèse qui englobe des éléments picturaux et graphiques, tout en gardant mon aspiration d’aborder de grandes surfaces, car les œuvres que je crée ont parfois des dimensions importantes.
Le collage est pour moi un nouvel univers graphique; il me permet une liberté de recherche formelle qui me convient.
Pour certaines de mes tapisseries, le collage a été souvent le point de départ. La création continue alors dans l’interprétation que je réalise moi-même en haute lice.
Dans la tapisserie j’utilise ce que nous a légué la tradition européenne tout en ouvrant de nouvelles voies de développement. Dans le choc de la tradition et de sa transgression j’entrevoie des possibilités infinies.
L’esprit nouveau peut se mêler aux techniques anciennes.
On peut être tout à fait de son temps tout en utilisant une technique traditionnelle.
